Definition




  • Procedure Text is the set of steps which should be completed in the right sequence to get the goal.
      Porpose is To help us do a task or make something. They can be a set of instructions or directions.
     Generic Structure of Procedure Text
    1.      Goal (the final purpose of doing the instructions)
    2.      Materials (ingredients, utensils, equipment to do the instructions)
    3.      Steps (a set instructions to achieve the final purpose)
      Language Features 
    1.    Using simple present tense 
    2.    Use time connection 
    3.    Use of imperative sentence  
How to write Procedure Text
  1. Choose The topic, usually about how to make food, drink or how to operate thing.
  2. Make list the material such as ingredients and equipment. 
  3. Make steps how to make something according the topic.

How to Make Cheese Omelet

Ingredients :

1 egg, 50 gr cheese, 1 cup milk, 3 table spoons cooking oil, a      pinch of salt and pepper.

Steps :

 First, crack an egg into a bowl. Then whisk the egg with a fork until it is smooth. After that, add  milk and whisk well. Grate the cheese into the bowl and stir. Next, heat the oil in a frying pan, and pour the mixture into the frying pan. Then, turn the omelet with a spatula when it browns. Next cook both sides.

After the omelet is done, place it on a plate, spread salt and pepper.
